Of course the shop will provide you with the souvenirs.. how about some salt from the largest salt lake of North Africa?
| ...or some dyed desert roses?
| ... or some bones of wild animals?
| After finishing crossing Chott el-Jerid, we came to Fatnasa, the Dunes Sanctuary
This place was only assessible by a 4WD and was not a place frequented by tour groups
| The dunes formation formed really interesting landscape. The dunes were more like rocks than sand
| We thought we could finally find a cafe with proper toilets but it seems the cafe was already deserted
| Next to Fatnasa was a very interesting structure
It pumped up the thermal water from underground and then distributed to the areas nearby
| Before we knew what this was our initial thought was to cool ourselves off with this water (after travelling in the desert who wouldn't?) but the water was boiling hot!
| We arrived in Douz for lunch. This was more like a tourist agent office than a proper restaurant, and we managed to cause the only toilet to flood and overflow!!
| Tunisian local soup, it was quite tasty
