Vincent Poon :: The Residence Maldives - Marine Life

One of the reasons why I tolerated such a hellish travelling time to this island was because of the excellent coral reef and its close proximity to the island

If you were lucky to get a sunset facing villa, all you needed is the ability to fin for 5 minutes and you will be rewarded with the splendid view of the Falhumaafushi reef! (OK the turtle was from another place...)

Our first attempt to the Maldivian water was on the east side of the island... basically there was nothing much except seaweed... Surely water was shallow enough
Finally we started to see some corals as we made our way to the platform near the jetty
and found some fishes hiding around the rocks
and also had a chance to see the first wild lion fish in my life!

After we moved to our water villa, we started snorkeling on the west side of the island

The same old friend I saw every time I snorkelled!

The main diving sites in our area
Our transport for our snorkeling tour
Both the snorkelers and the scuba divers shared the same boat
We arrived our snorkeling (and diving) site where the light crossed the dark blue water (because of the change of depth of the sea bed)
