Yad VaShem, meaning 'a name and a place' (Isaiah 56:5) is the Jewish people’s living memorial to the Holocaust. The contents in the museum were so intense and powerful that even for an outsider like me felt deeply touched by what has happened to the Jews in WWII. I think anybody should pay a visit to this place to remind themselves the meaning of humanity and that we are all equal in this world.

To get to Yad VaShem or other places in Israel, you would need to take the bus at the central bus station. This is where I had the opportunity to walk around the New City of Jerusalem, which is actually quite modern!

The Central Bus Station - if you want to go outside Jerusalem to other cities in Israel, then chances are this is the place you will start your journey

Heavy security on entering the bus station, I guess it has been a target for terrorist attacks in the past

This was just like a typical bus station you would find in any city, except that here you would most likely to find your fellow passengers going home with their automatic weapons.

Mobile charging station, it has all the different adapters for different mobile brands. But that was in 2008, your non-smart phone battery should be able to last for quite a while without charging...

Great! Just what I needed to know to check the destination of the bus...

Inside the station, I finally found a place that sold Holy Bagel...

The buses there were very modern. This is a Jerusalem city bus

New Bridge (Chords Bridge) in Jerusalem, only inaugurated in June 2008. It resembled King David's Harp

The S-shape of the Chords Bridge was the result of the technical requirements of the light rail system.
