Vincent Poon :: Split

More than just any coastal city along the Adriatic coast, what made Split so unique is that the city itself was once one huge palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Nowadays you could still relive this history once you pass through one of the four gates of the palace

Nowadays this area is more occupied by the not-so-well-off people
This is the way they hang their clothes, quite handy and intelligent
Typical Palace house and courtyard
Back to the old city, another alley

Back to the old city, another alley
So the alleys are not completely car-free... this explains why the streets are clean
A nice looking restaurant hiding inside the old city
This is a very famous Croatian made chocolate
It seems breaking bad is also popular here in Croatia

This is a chain store for candies, lots of interesting design (we saw them again in Dubrovnik)
A pizza and sandwich shop which we had one of the dinners.. my comment? still prefer HK's pizza the HUT
The entrance of a really nice restaurant, if you look further you would see the place has been setup very nicely with cushions and candles
Sunset at the people's square, again it reminded me of the Venetian Macao but this time this is no artificial sky
