Once you have left through the Iron Gate on the west, the first thing you would notice would be the 15th century Marina Tower, built by the Venetian
| Next to the tower is the Brace Radica Square
| There is a juice shop right at the bottom of the Marina Tower
| It would be nice to take a place here and sip some juice if we weren't pressed for time

At the centre of Brace Radica Square is the monument to Marko Marulic (writer and scholar) who was the founder of literature in Croatian language.
| That building (Nakic Palace) reminded me of the Venetian Macao, yes many of these buildings were actually Venetian built, when they ruled here
| One of the menus of the numerous restaurants in this square... lovely menu
| Looking back towards the Iron Gate (where the clock tower is) from the people's square (pjaca). On the left is the Renaissance Town Hall

On top of the Iron Gate is the Church of Our Lady of the Belfry, with its 11th century bell tower
| Heading back to the old city through Iron Gate, this statue is the life-size relief of St. Anthony
| One of the maze-like alleys inside the old city
| Palace of Salona? (Salona was 5km from Split) Anyone who knows Latin?
