Vincent Poon :: The Old and the New Town of Ljubljana

Like most capital cities, Ljubljana was never intended to be our primary focus during our stay in Slovenia given our limited time there.

We didn't have time for the museums nor the castles and it turned out that the highlights were really the architectural gems and the lively markets.

This is the side of a vending machine. It shows France Preseren the poet, who is very famous in Ljubljana.
A milk vending machine, the catch is you have to bring your own bottle...
This is the promenade next to the river, where all the cafes, restaurants and the bars are
Despite what you might think, Lolita is the name of a cafe here...

ice-cream@slovenia, looked nice but I would give it a pass given the temperature at that time
Raw ice cake - definitely looked nice, a shame didn't have time to try it.
Some kind of sculptures and don't ask me what they were supposed to be...
As mentioned earlier, dragon is the symbol of Ljubljana

At our time of visit, it was near the 20th Ljubljana Marathon
There is always one of these nearby in the old European towns
Police car of Ljubljana... doesn't look like it can outrun any criminals in any decent cars though
Kavalirji is an electric transport in the pedestrian zone for those who have difficulties to walk. It is so slow that you can hail them any time - and it is free!
