Vincent Poon :: Town of Hvar

To be honest, there is more to do in the island of Hvar than walking around the old town. But if you want to relax and take it as a break from the busy itinierary, walking around the town, enjoying the sea, the view, the sun is not such a bad idea after all!

Above the arsenal is the renaissance theatre
Door of the theatre, which was built in 1612, was said to be the oldest of all theatres in Europe
During our visit, the theatre was closed for rennovation, so we could only take a peek from the window
St. Stephen's square, as seen from the terrace outside the theatre

St Stephen's Square, the main square in the old town of Hvar. At 4500 sq m, it is one of the largest old square in Dalmatia region
The square is filled with these cafes which could be a good place to chill out
Cathedral of St Stephen, right at the far end of the square. It is dedicated to St Stephen who was the pope, matyr and patron saint of Hvar
