These cannons were made locally, which Dubrovnik was recognized for in this part of the world at that time.

On the right is the island of Lokrum

Lokrum, only 680m from Dubrovnik, now houses a botanical garden that contains exotic species planted by its previous owners

If we look down, there is a path to the sea where you can take a dip in the sea or a sip of tea in the cafe

This is the other cliff-side cafe outside the wall, you can see clearly how people can get to swim despite of not having a proper beach

During the day there are lots of cruise boats that will take tourists to the nearby islands

or if you feel a bit adventurous you could rent the kayaks and do a bit of sea kayaking

or rent a motor boat for your own private cruise in the Adriatic Sea

Or pay for one of these 'Blu Eye' glassboats for a 30 minute ride.
