Armenia, South Caucasus
Armenia Spring is full of Green, daisies, poppies, apricots, sheeps and horses in the plateau. We hiked from Hagpat to Sanahin, to Kayan Berd. We learnt the history of this village through monastery architecture and abandoned fortress.
As arranged by Alaverdi Guide, we met two young and passionate locals who told us a lot about their lives, community during our hike. Alaverdi is a region suffer from lack of investments and economic progress after the Soviet Times. AlaverdiGuide( http://alaverdiguide.com) is run by a registered not for profit foundation which aims to promote Alaverdi tourism in order to help the locals employment prospects. If you hire a local guide, it will make your trip more meaningful as you are helping to change people's lives by giving them hope and opportunities.
